Jelly sandwich

Today’s is a quick and easy design: my first jelly sandwich! Making a jelly sandwich is very simple, really: all you have to do is ‘sandwich’ a glitter polish between two layers of polish that have a jelly-like texture. Assuming, of course, that you actually know your jellies…

Since I am still a beginner with all this polish stuff, I have been struggling to find out which of my polishes are creams, jellies or even crellies, and who knows what else.. One polish that I felt certain enough about to categorise as a ‘jelly’ is China Glaze’s Towel Boy Toy, a neon blue. It is has a pretty thick formula, and has this transparant quality, two things that are essential of a jelly polish (or at least I think so).

I started with two thin coats of this polish. For my glitter, I chose KBShimmer’s Squared Away, which has several hues of blue glitter in it, as well as silver, holographic, fuchsia, and pink. After that, most of the glittery shimmer is reduced by adding another layer of Towel Boy Toy. At first, I found the result a bit dull, but once I added a topcoat, the design began to shine again. And ultimately, you kind of create your own floating-glitter-polish!
